Renee Montemayor starred as Freda Caplan in one of J.B. Priestley's classic time plays "Dangerous Corner".
Renee played a Royal wife in Jeremy Sam's limited run of 'The King and I' at the Royal Albert Hall, London in 2009. Daniel Dae Kim (from American TV series 'Lost') played the King opposite West End diva Maria Friedman's Mrs. Anna. A huge and spectacular production played in the round.
Renee Montemayor played ensign Carla Velasquez in Sir Trevor Nunn's adaptation of 'South Pacific' at London's prestigious The Royal National Theatre. Choreographed by Matthew Bourne. She also understudied the part of Liat. Below are photos from this production as well as a few backstage pictures, South Pacific 'Moulin Rouge' Christmas party photos, and some from the recording of the original cast album at Abbey Road Studios, 2002.
Renee was asked to participate in producer Cameron Mackintosh's special Royal Gala Concert for the Queen 'Hey Mr. Producer!' in 1998 at the newly opened Lyceum Theatre, London.
Renee was involved as a singer and a performer in numerous musical numbers such as Cat's 'Jellicle Ball, Carousel, Les Miserables, Godspell, Company and, of course, Miss Saigon.
Renee Montemayor was involved in the London West End production of 'Miss Saigon' on and off for a total of around 4 years. During that time she played practically all the female roles in the show including understudying and playing both Gigi and the lead role Kim.
